Dan may provide the looks, but Giles is most certainly the brains of the outfit. Born in Nottingham, Giles has lived in Leicestershire, North Wales and Yorkshire (where he got a BA Hons in Geography) before finally settling in London.
After his degree, Giles came to the Capital and started temping (a bit of bar work and risking his life as a courier). But with his natural gift of the gab, the young Atkinson was always looking for a sales job. In due course, he ended working for an estate agent and joined forces with an equally entrepreneurial colleague, the young Dan McLeod, to set up Atkinson McLeod.
Giles has subsequently completed a PGdip in Estate Management at South Bank University and is a member of both ARLA (the Association of Residential letting Agents) and the NAEA (National Association of Estate Agents).
“Quality of service and customer satisfaction are even more important than sales”
As a manager, he always loved the challenge of managing a team of people to hit sales targets; but his role is also about relaying to his staff that quality of service and customer satisfaction are even more important than sales.
